Today, a story was published in the The Korea Times which seems to support the ever-growing mass of rumors surrounding the imminent (and confirmed) game announcement at Blizzard's World Wide Invitational (WWI).

The article yields some more interesting pieces to the puzzle including these comments: Quote: QUOTE A source, who is familiar with the issue, also said the game will be the long-awaited StarCraft II.
``Blizzard plans to announce StarCraft II at the WWI 2007. It will be different in many ways from the original StarCraft including the number of species,'' said the source who declined to be named.

When contacted, Blizzard Entertainment Korea refused to confirm the release of StarCraft II.
``We will be sure to take the wraps off a new computer game next week but we cannot say what it would be,'' Blizzard Entertainment Korea spokesperson Jessie Kim said. Most of the rumors seem to be pointing towards SC2 - as another RTS - rather than the ever frightening rumors of a SC MMO. There's less than 2 weeks left until the WWI and you can be sure SC:L will be covering all the details of that (possibly) historic day. Stay tuned.

I doubt it's going to be a traditional RTS game. They still have the Ghost engine and models, I believe, and I really have a big hunch that they use the graphics from the scrapped Ghost project in another game, whether it's an RTS-FPS where you can control squads or something, or just an MMO. I doubt it's going to be anything like WoW, maybe some type of MMO-FPS game that'll be kind of like a game version of Starship Troopers. That my take on it, anyways.
