Fucking Youtube.. Options

So a little less than a week ago I started getting "an error occurred, please try again later" on every video that I tried to play.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the newest flash player with no results. Videos embedded in websites play fine, direct links do not.
I can also play movies from the related bar that pops up at the end of videos, but not that video directly.
Sometimes I get popup messages when trying to load a youtube link. "You have chosen to open watch which is a: application/octet-stream from: http://www.youtube.com", open with/save file and all that junk.
Using firefox+windows XP.

EDIT: Disabled tubestop and vids are playing pretty consistently now. Guess I'll just have to pause every video I open..
